THE STORY OF BJE

THE MAN:  Like most young men, Barry J. Elliott grew up wanting notoriety, although he never really fit in.   As he matured, his focus changed from wanting notoriety to living a life of impact.  Having survived the poor decisions of his young adult years, overcoming bouts with depression, and thoughts of suicide, his mission is to be productive spiritually, relationally, and professionally.

THE BRAND:  Simply BJE, Inc. evolved from a Facebook hashtag #simplybje in 2012. Barry created the tag to distinguish his posts.  Inadvertently, people began to identify him as BJE, and the brand was born.  Simply BJE, Inc. exists to build leaders, to inspire others through spoken and written word, and to empower through mentorship.  Simply BJE, Inc. also hosts a weekly podcast called, The Lifeline.

THE SERVANT OF JESUS CHRIST:  Above all, BJE is an unapologetic follower of Jesus Christ.  His objective is to serve His generation by the will of God until he falls asleep (Acts 13:36). With almost 30 years of ministry experience and being ordained for over 25 years, he has served in many roles.  Currently, he is a leadership trainer and an associate pastor at The Connecting Place at Greater Salem in Charlotte, NC.  He also leads The Logos Connection, a Christian network for leaders. 

THE THINKER:  BJE endeavors to be a critical, forward thinker, and he emphasizes the importance of education.  He credits his late aunt Barbara G. Wilson, an educator, with planting that seed when he was in first grade.  Consequently, he has three earned degrees:  a Bachelor of Arts and two Master’s degrees.
